The section enjoyed a superb section Diamond Jubilee gathering at Jim Wood's on 19th May, just a shame the weather was cold and wet.

EEthanol Free petrol is still available but getting harder to find as the government (DfT) apply pressure on the oil industry to comply with their ridiculous and unrealistic so called Green targets. Stay away from EN prefixes in your old vehicle, Example EN228 as this contains up to 5% Ethanol. Some Super unleaded remains Ethanol free in our area, this includes Total Excellium and BP Ultimate but please always check. If you see a tanker driver, ASK. The drivers always know what is in their tanker and in any case, Ethanol is only added at the last moment before leaving the refinery because of the hygroscopic nature of this evil solvent.

01423 504881 Northern Energy, Ripon Road, Harrogate. HG1 3HJ for 4 Star leaded petrol, again Ethanol free. Check for availability as Bayford Thrust can only mix BS4040 from Ethanol free Super unleaded. They also sell unleaded Ethanol free (BS7070) very rare.

Esso Supreme Super unleaded is currently Ethanol free at Harrogate Esso, although the pumps have already been marked up as EN228 in preparation for Ethanol, possibly in the next delivery around October 2012. Although not good, this is a responsible move by Esso as the

BS7800 so called standard allows for up to 5% Ethanol. So, you may never know what you are getting and our politicians including Transport Minister Norman Baker does not seem to understand the damage done to old vehicles by E5. (Or maybe he does?)
The law states that up to 7% Ethanol can contaminate your petrol without warning. The people making these rules up are out of touch with reality or working to a hidden agenda!

The campaign for E0 must go on. Please use this information as a guide only as the situation is changing all the time.

Standard Unleaded BSEN228: up to 5% ethanol
- Super Unleaded BS7070: 0% ethanol
- Super Unleaded BS7800: up to 5% ethanol
- Tesco Momentum 99: approx 7% ethanol
- Shell V-Max: approx 7% ethanol
- 4 star Leaded BS4040 0% ethanol.

I wonder if my 16H would make it?
