North East Section News

The Golden Era Run will see its third anniversary on 29th August. This must be one of the best Pre 31 events in the North of the UK, well structured and well organised. Ride, Marshall or spectate for a fantastic day out at the Yorkshire Air Museum.

4 Star Ethanol Free leaded Petrol is available from Northern Energy, Ripon Road, Harrogate. Ethanol Free unleaded petrol available from most Murco garages (Supplied from their own refinery) including Mill Lane Beverley, East Yorkshire.

I have recently received information from BP that states that BP Ultimate is currently Ethanol free except in South Wales. This situation however could change BP suggests as the EU and government applies pressure to ensure total contamination. E10 is scheduled to be introduced during this year. Any fuel containing more than 7% Ethanol legally has to be marked up at the pumps.

* Please note that E5 was legally introduced by stealth! That is why you may have found your pet seal and rubber hoses melted some time ago and you couldn't work out why!

For 2012 the rider with the best AJS performance @ the Topcliffe Run will be presented with the Colin Hunter Memorial Shield.

Noel Whittall has just published a book on his end to end adventures on his Model H. Copies are available from President Dennis or Noel. You will find Noel's contact details at the bottom of the Golden Era entry form. The book costs £10 of which £1 to be donated to section funds. The Book is called 'A stupid thing to do.' (I wonder if my 16H would make it?)
