Gerald Maguire was born in Belfast in 1959. After 15 years working in a drawing office, he left to continue painting as a full time artist and moved to Castlerock, Co Londonderry. His favourite locations for painting are on the north-west coast of Northern Ireland.
In 1995, his work was featured in the book, 'Coleraine and the Causeway Coast', and in 2005 he was profiled on Belfast Community TV station NVTV in a short programme titled 'The Castlerock Painter'.
In October 2006 his paintings were showcased in a new book (with text from Bob Curran) from Cottage Publications titled 'Across The Roe'.
Gerald paints both watercolours and oils, and specialises in painting buildings and street scenes as well as traditional irish subjects.
